1-to-1 drives the transformation into a series specialist for small, precise plastic components
High-tech company plans approximately 10 percent growth by 2025 with a focus on medical technology and electronics
New technologies and materials, higher capacities and batch sizes: The Dornbirn-based high-tech company 1zu1 is advancing the industrialization of 3D printing. The specialist for small, precise series components and high-end prototypes made of plastic looks ahead after a challenging industry-wide economic year in 2024. With a focus on quickly realized series, cleanroom manufacturing, and technology-independent consulting, 1zu1 lays the foundation for future growth.
1zu1 accelerates the market launch of new products. The Dornbirn-based high-tech company produces fully functional series components made of plastic within a few weeks and shortens development times with high-end prototypes. In 2024, 1zu1 introduced Cubicure's innovative 3D printing technology Hot Lithography and expanded its machinery fleet with additional post-processing equipment for 3D printed parts. The increasing proportion of series production confirms the company's strategy. In 2025, after the crisis-related weaker business year in 2024 and a slight decline in sales, 1zu1 aims to return to a growth trajectory.
The upswing in the second half of the year makes us optimistic. We have gained new customers, sharpened our profile, and taken early measures. "In 2025, we expect a sales increase of 10 percent," reports CEO Thomas Kohler. 1zu1 sees great potential in medical technology. "We manufacture in cleanrooms, meet high quality standards, and enable project-specific components. We do this cost-efficiently, flexibly, and in the near future also ISO 13485 certified," says Kohler.
Partner for small, precise plastic components
Since its start as a reliable partner for high-end prototypes in 1996, the 3D printing pioneer has paved the way for series production. Industries with complex components and custom geometries, such as medical technology and electronics, benefit particularly from technological advances. "Whether small series or single pieces: We stand for quickly produced plastic components of the highest quality. We do this as a full-service provider from 1 to 100,000 parts in 3D printing as well as in vacuum and injection molding," emphasizes Kohler.
The technology-independent offering guarantees the best solution for each component. In addition, 1zu1 deepens collaboration with innovative companies and puts customers at the center. "Good consulting is the key to success. We get involved as early as possible, support optimization, and thus secure the competitiveness and market leadership of our customers," Kohler is convinced. The millions of parts are already in sight for the premium supplier of the international Prototal Group: In the near future, 1zu1 aims to economically produce series with up to one million small, precise plastic components. To this end, the company will also invest in technologies and capacities in 2025.
