Particle Measuring System viert haar 45-jarig jubileum

Founded in 1972, Particle Measuring Systems (PMS) celebrated its 45th anniversary in June 2017. Shortly after the invention of the world's first laser particle counter, Dr. Robert Knollenberg established the company. Since then, PMS has continuously advanced its course in the development of new particle counters. Among these is the latest measuring device, the Chem20™, the world's only chemical particle counter for 20nm particles.

PMS has developed measuring devices that were used on aircraft wings to study the atmosphere. Subsequently, technologies for cleanroom monitoring were developed, initially for monitored microelectronics manufacturing. In 2000, the company decided to expand into the "Life Sciences" sector, which is now a very important part of the business. "Particle Measuring Systems" stands not only for particle counting, but PMS also offers microbiological and molecular monitoring, as well as consulting, GMP services, and training.

"We started as a small company in a garage and have now grown to several hundred employees. Two-thirds of our business takes place outside the USA. We have more than 35 representatives and local sales and service staff in 70 countries worldwide, with over 60 patents," says John Mitchell, President of PMS.
