Ziehl-Abegg invests an additional 90 million euros

Ziehl-Abegg is investing an additional 90 million euros in machinery, tools, and production capacities in Europe, North America, and Asia. The background is the worldwide increasing demand for fans for AI data centers as well as growth in the areas of building climate control, heat pumps, and refrigeration technology.

Ziehl-Abegg continues its growth course with one of the largest investment campaigns in the company's history. In addition to the already planned investment budget, another 90 million euros are being invested in expanding global production capacities.

The additional funds will be used for machinery, tools, and production equipment at locations in Europe, the USA, and Asia. The goal is to be able to meet the rising demand for energy-efficient fans and drive systems in the long term.

"We see a very dynamic development of our markets worldwide," says Joachim Ley, CEO of Ziehl-Abegg. "Especially the demand from the environment of AI data centers is growing strongly. At the same time, we are experiencing positive developments in applications for building climate control and refrigeration technology."

The demand is developing so dynamically across multiple continents that existing plants are already operating at high capacity. In the USA, the prerequisites have been created for a three-shift operation. At German sites, work is sometimes carried out around the clock and additionally on weekends. The plant in China has been producing three shifts six days a week since last autumn.

With the expansion of production capacities, Ziehl-Abegg pursues two goals: to enable growth in future markets and to ensure the reliable supply to existing customers at the same time.

"These investments not only strengthen our competitiveness. They also secure the jobs of our existing employees worldwide," emphasizes Ley. "We are expanding capacities on all continents and thus creating a stable foundation for the further development of our company."
