With PÖPPELMANN blue® for fully recyclable plastic packaging
Pöppelmann FAMAC®
A closed material cycle for plastic packaging – this is the goal pursued by the Pöppelmann FAMAC® division, which specializes in solutions for the food and pharmaceutical industries. As part of PÖPPELMANN blue®, the division of the Pöppelmann Group from Lohne is committed to sustainable alternatives that combine recyclable materials with optimal product protection, packaging stability, marketing aspects, and regulatory requirements of specific industries.
Company-wide initiative PÖPPELMANN blue®
The major trade fair focus for the plastics specialist is the broad initiative PÖPPELMANN blue®. Under this umbrella, the Pöppelmann Group consolidates numerous projects aimed at a comprehensive circular economy. An important component of the sustainability strategy is the use of recycled material. A major challenge is to reconcile technically feasible solutions with regulatory requirements, such as those applicable to food. The division maintains close contact with food producers, retailers, research, and recycling specialists. At FachPack 2018 in Nuremberg, the experts from Pöppelmann FAMAC® will inform about current developments for greater sustainability in the food and pharmaceutical packaging segment as well as potential partnerships.
Bag with heat-sealed spout – focus on recyclable bag packaging
As a developer and producer of technical functional parts and modern packaging, Pöppelmann FAMAC® will showcase, among other things, bag packaging with heat-sealed spouts at FachPack. A particularly hygienic packaging concept ensures optimal dosing and simplified handling. The heat-sealed spout is closed with a valve and opens only through pressure on the actuation element. This allows the product to be dispensed air-free and maintains its hygienic status even after the first opening. The series of heat-sealed spouts from Pöppelmann FAMAC® features a guiding groove system, uniform dimensions, and various opening diameters ranging from 8.5 to 21.5 mm. Larger diameters make it easier to dispense liquids or viscous and free-flowing substances, facilitating dosing. The packaging system is suitable for both the pharmaceutical and food industries. As part of PÖPPELMANN blue®, Pöppelmann FAMAC® is also working with partners in the foil and bag manufacturing sectors to develop fully recyclable foil bags with spouts, aiming to offer completely recyclable bag packaging in the future, which can be reused as raw material for the production of new spouts, caps, and bags after use.
This and other highlights will be presented by Pöppelmann FAMAC® from September 25 to 27, 2018, at FachPack in Nuremberg, Hall 6, Stand 6-454.
