Windows 11 and more robust IT security for the cleanroom

Effective immediately, the new single-CPU boards CA11-ESTL, developed by CAITRON for its Human Machine Interfaces (HMI) for the pharmaceutical, chemical, and food industries, are available. Companies benefit from the Windows 11 compatibility of the powerful single-CPU boards CA11-ESTL and enhanced security features such as hardware TPM 2.0 and Watchdog.

The mainboards of the CA11 series are technically based on Intel Core i5 and i7 processors of the 11th generation and feature extremely strong single-core performance as well as robust multi-core and GPU performances. The up to 32GB DDR4 RAM and the optional NVMe SSD complete the overall performance. The self-developed single-CPU boards made from embedded components were specifically designed for use in the Cx17 and Cx24 HMI series. With a long-term availability of up to 10 years, they represent a sustainable investment.

With two Intel I226 2.5 Gbit/s ports with IEEE1588, TSN support, and Wake-On-LAN, the CAITRON mainboards set the course for automated, modern production environments. The interfaces RS-232, RS422, RS-485, and USB-C allow HMIs to be flexibly coupled with other devices and integrated into networks. Depending on specific connectivity needs, the CA11-ESTL also features individually disableable USB ports and BIOS-level disabled WLAN and Bluetooth functionalities. The DisplayPort connection offers the possibility to connect an additional external monitor.

Advantages of Compatibility with Windows 11

The Caitron mainboards of the CA11-ESTL series support Windows 11 and pave the way for many associated benefits. These include the speed and performance optimized by Microsoft, for example, for collaboration with Microsoft 365 and Azure Active Directory. The various menus are also significantly clearer and promote easier operation.

Enhanced Security

Users also benefit from an improved level of protection for the HMIs with Windows 11, including the standard Trusted Platform Module (TPM) 2.0, which Microsoft defines as a prerequisite for the new operating system. It offers extensive security and privacy advantages for system hardware, platform owners, and users. Compared to the predecessor TPM 1.2, the current version has higher cryptographic agility through more flexible support for various cryptographic algorithms, promising more robust protection. In addition to the TPM 2.0 chip, CA11 also features Watchdog functionalities, helping to detect system failures early.
