What is what: Hybrid, digital seminar, webinar?

What a challenge in such a short time. Due to the current situation, PTS has completely digitized within just a few weeks. While seminars were recently held in popular hotels, we are now taking new paths with our new studios at the Arnsberg location. Digital is also indispensable in the future, even if we hope that times will change soon and we can again hold popular in-person events at external venues.

Surely you have also experienced it in recent months: you receive information and offers for webinars, digital seminars, and hybrid seminars from everywhere. But what does all this actually mean?

We can't speak for everyone, but here at PTS Training Service, we work with the following definitions for implementing our digital offerings:

Hybrid Events

Hybrid events are one- or multi-day seminars that take place on-site, either in a hotel or in the PTS studio in Arnsberg. As a participant, you are live, either on-site or connected online. You can communicate with the speakers at any time, ask your questions, and conduct interactive exercises and workshops alone or in groups. Through digital conference technology, participants on-site and online can hear and speak to each other. Online participants can also activate their cameras and see each other.

Digital Seminars

Digital seminars are also one- or multi-day. There are no participants on-site; all participants, and possibly some speakers, are connected online. The execution takes place in our studios with state-of-the-art digital technology and equipment. By connecting participants with sound and image, interactions, group workshops, discussions, quick questions, and answers are also possible here. The content of a digital seminar is identical to that of an in-person event. Even our popular GMP conference took place completely digitally for the first time this year.

Webinars

So, what is the difference from a webinar? PTS webinars are generally shorter online seminars, usually lasting 90 to 120 minutes. Here, basic information on a topic is often presented, or specific aspects are examined in depth. As a participant, you can expand or deepen your knowledge with minimal time investment and without travel costs. Depending on the size of the participant group, it is also possible to connect participants with sound and image in webinars. Communication with the speakers generally takes place via chat. Interactions, surveys, whiteboard usage, etc., are also used in webinars.

In-house Digital Training

You might now be asking: what about in-company training? In-house training can also take place digitally. Depending on the length of the training sessions, it can be implemented as a webinar or digital seminar. In general, an in-house training can also be conducted in a hybrid manner, with participants on-site at the company and additional digitally connected participants. Just discuss your requirements with us, and we will find the perfect solution for you.

Outlook 2021

In the first quarter of 2021, we plan to implement all events as digital seminars or webinars. This way, you can plan your participation with confidence in advance and are not dependent on the current COVID-19 protection measures or travel restrictions.
