Weiss Technik has acquired Ascott Analytical Equipment. The British company has been manufacturing and distributing corrosion testing systems for over 30 years. With this acquisition, the specialist for environmental simulation systems Weiss Technik strategically complements its portfolio in the field of corrosion testing: in addition to Weiss Technik's customized special systems, the high-quality standard solutions from Ascott are now included.

Ascott specializes in the production of salt spray chambers and cyclic corrosion testing chambers. Testing standards for environmental simulation tests also require the inspection of components and devices for their corrosion resistance in many industries. For example, the automotive and aerospace industries need systems to test how their components react to high humidity, salty air, seawater, and road salt. Corrosion testing also plays an important role in battery manufacturing for electromobility in product development and approval.

By acquiring Ascott, Weiss Technik strengthens and expands its offerings in the field of corrosion testing: "The standard solutions with an excellent price-performance ratio complement our customer-specific special systems optimally," explains Peter R. Manolopoulos, Managing Director at Weiss Technik.

Together on a growth course

Weiss Technik and Ascott are now jointly market leaders for corrosion testing systems. They not only complement each other well in terms of technical know-how but also in sales, says Manolopoulos: "Weiss Technik is particularly present in Germany and Europe, while Ascott is strong in the United Kingdom, as well as in America and Asia – our strategic growth regions." Ascott is headquartered in Tamworth, central England, and has around 30 employees. All global representatives and workplaces will remain in place: "We want to work together towards a successful future and further expand our strong position in corrosion testing," emphasizes Manolopoulos.
