Wave couplings made of stainless steel meet hygiene requirements for the pharmaceutical industry

Corrosion-resistant, easy to clean, and particularly hygienic

Stainless steel shaft couplings are used in the food, pharmaceutical, and medical technology industries because they are corrosion-resistant, easy to clean, and hygienic. The smooth, rust-free surface prevents dirt and germ accumulation and meets high hygiene standards.

JAKOB Drive Technology GmbH now offers various stainless steel couplings as standard series: the metal bellows couplings KG-VA, KGH-VA, and MKG-VA, the spacer coupling series WD-VA and WDB, the elastomer coupling EKM-VA, as well as safety couplings SKVA-N and SKVA-K along with variants.

Especially noteworthy is that both the metal bellows coupling KGH-VA and the WDB series are manufactured in a very assembly-friendly half-shell design. This construction allows for easy assembly and disassembly, even in tight spaces. The fixed hub halves are simply placed onto the shaft and screwed to the loose half-shell pieces. This particularly saves time with stationary shaft pins, as the elaborate disassembly of the drive and/or driven unit is eliminated. Thanks to their rust-free stainless steel construction, these couplings are also ideal for use in the food industry.

Various series for different application areas

The KG-VA series can be used at temperatures up to 350 °C and is designed for shaft diameters from 10 to 90 mm and torque values from 30 to 1000 Nm. The KGH-VA series is wear- and maintenance-free, also operable up to 350 °C, and covers shaft diameters from 7 to 85 mm and torque values from 10 to 1200 Nm. It is available in variable lengths with 2- or 4-well bellows.

The MKG-VA is a miniature metal bellows coupling with a clamping hub, available with 2- or 4-well bellows, capable of transmitting up to 15 Nm and operable up to 350 °C.

New in the range is the elastomer coupling EKM-VA, which can transmit torques up to 500 Nm and is usable at temperatures up to 90 °C. It features an assembly-friendly clamping hub.

The spacer coupling WD-VA is available in variable lengths up to 3 meters and ensures backlash-free torque transmission. It is also operable up to 350 °C and suitable for shaft diameters from 7 to 85 mm with torques from 10 to 1200 Nm.

The safety couplings of series SKVA-N and SKVA-K are designed for indirect drives, while series SKVA-EK and SKVA-KG are for direct drives. They are suitable for use in the food industry or medical technology, which require particularly high hygienic standards. The series without elastomer are also especially heat-resistant and can be used in oven or cold systems.

One of the major strengths of JAKOB Drive Technology GmbH lies in the customized design and manufacturing of couplings, perfectly tailored to the individual needs of customers. The experienced team from sales and engineering enables quick and efficient processing. For technical questions, JAKOB experts are also available by phone, and personal consultations as well as custom-made solutions are available upon request.
