Wammes & Partners present concept and technology for plasma-based surface disinfectant "P-Bod"

Plasma-based, mobile, chemical-free surface disinfection of all kinds – this technology is presented by Wammes and Partner GmbH under the name P-Bod. The scientific service provider, developer, and manufacturer of custom electronic displays for systems in extreme application areas has developed its own display cleaning concept into a universal and mobile disinfectant. Using plasma – without chemicals or UV sources – mobile small devices can now be built for effective disinfection.

P-Bod allows precise, adjustable atmospheric plasma generators to be integrated into various applications such as hand dryers, vacuum robots, air conditioning units, or mobile small devices. Disinfection is achieved by generating precisely adjustable amounts of short-term stable, high-energy micro- and nano-particles that are biocidal against small and tiny viruses and bacteria.

To utilize the technology, only ambient air and energy from batteries or power outlets are required. This significantly minimizes any potential risk of misuse for users and treated materials. P-Bod can be scaled almost arbitrarily for different power classes and applications, for example, for the respective target application in various device concepts or for combating bacteria, spores, or viruses.

“We do not sell disinfection devices. We sell licenses to integrate our protected and registered principle into applications of all kinds – and, if needed, also provide consulting to technically implement the concept,” emphasizes Managing Director Klaus Wammes. “Depending on the application, the technology can be universally implemented in a wide range of devices and power classes for disinfection, which can even be so small that they are handbag-sized and thus mobile and ready for use everywhere.”
