Vibration monitoring with SIL-certified vibration sensors

Increasingly, safety requirements for humans, systems, and the environment are being mandated by law according to the latest state of technology. The standard IEC/DIN 61508 defines four safety integrity levels (SIL). For safety-critical applications, PCB Piezotronics offers vibration sensors with SIL 2.

Industrial Vibration Transmitters

PCB Synotech now offers SIL 2-certified vibration transmitters of the 64x series, including models approved for the EX area.

Industrial ICP®/IEPE Vibration Sensors

In addition to the certified vibration transmitters, SIL 2-certified ICP®/IEPE vibration sensors of the 62x series are part of the product range. This includes optional models HT (high temperature), V (vibration velocity), TO (temperature output), as well as models with ATEX approval.

The industrial vibration sensors from PCB Piezotronics feature a double-walled, hermetically sealed stainless steel housing. This provides mechanical protection against environmental influences and contamination, while also serving as a Faraday cage that shields against electrical interference. The galvanic isolation of the sensor element and the subsequent measurement chain from the sensor housing prevents ground loops and noise.
