Vetter receives Clean! 2018 Fraunhofer Purity Technology Award
– Vetter secures 3rd place in the awarding of the CLEAN! 2018
– Fraunhofer IPA honors innovations in cleanroom technology
– Holistic, innovative manufacturing technology V-CRT® from Vetter impresses with aseptic safety
Vetter is among the award winners of the CLEAN! 2018 award for purity technology this year. The pharmaceutical service provider was able to convince the independent expert jury of the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology and Automation (IPA) with its innovative Vetter CleanRoom Technology V-CRT®. The award was presented at the Cleanroom Process Technology Messe LOUNGES in Karlsruhe.
The Fraunhofer IPA awards the CLEAN! Purity Technology Prize for groundbreaking developments in purity technology. "The production of pharmaceutical active ingredients, microchips, or nanoproducts would be unthinkable without a highly pure manufacturing environment," says Dr.-Ing. Udo Gommel, head of the department at the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology and Automation. "Vetter drives innovation in aseptic production and thereby increases the competitiveness of its customers – this is what the CLEAN! 2018 Fraunhofer Purity Technology Award recognizes." Important criteria for awarding and evaluation were technological leap, sustainability, and industrial feasibility of the application concept. The Fraunhofer IPA is an institution of the Fraunhofer Society that promotes applied research. It mainly focuses on the development of sustainable and forward-looking products.
Bernd Stauß, Senior Vice President of Production/Technology at Vetter, is proud of the award: "We continuously develop our technologies to meet the complex and ever-growing requirements regarding quality and flexibility in pharmaceutical manufacturing. We are very pleased that this is now recognized with the renowned CLEAN! 2018 Purity Technology Award from Fraunhofer IPA for our cleanroom concept V-CRT®."
V-CRT® is a holistic manufacturing technology developed by Vetter for the safe, aseptic filling of injection systems. The innovative approach combines the advantages of isolators with Restricted Access Barrier Systems (RABS) and is based on the idea of fully automated decontamination of the entire cleanroom with hydrogen peroxide (H2O2). The result: maximum safety in preventing contamination as well as a flexible production process. After the successful commercial implementation and validation of V-CRT® last year, the technology will be used in all cleanrooms at Vetter by 2025.
