Vetter impresses at the Best Managed Companies Award 2024
Jury of the renowned business award designates pharmaceutical service provider as Best in Class
- Vetter defends Gold- and Best in Class-Status
- Pharmaceutical service provider impresses in all four evaluation categories
- Exemplary combination of economic success and pioneering role in sustainability
Vetter, a globally leading pharmaceutical service provider, has been awarded the Best Managed Companies Award once again this year, marking the fifth consecutive time. The jury of the renowned business award was once again impressed by the Ravensburg-based family company: especially convincing was the consistency and strength of implementation with which Vetter advances its corporate development in the evaluation categories of Strategy, Products and Innovation, Culture and Commitment, as well as Governance and Finance. Deloitte Private, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, and the Federation of German Industries (BDI), together with banking partner UBS, award the Best Managed Companies Award to excellently managed companies.
Vetter CEO Peter Sölkner expresses his enthusiasm: “For us, participating in the Best Managed Companies Award is a fantastic opportunity to receive focused expert feedback from outside. We can be justifiably proud that we have again been recognized and rated as Best in Class. We owe this primarily to our 6,300 employees, who, with great commitment and passion, implement our set goals day after day at all levels.”
Ambitious goals convincingly achieved
In 2023, Vetter reached important milestones in the company's development: for the first time, the pharmaceutical service provider reported a turnover of over one billion euros. The major expansion projects at the Ravensburg sites and surrounding areas, involving significant financial investments, are on schedule or have already been successfully put into operation. Key automation and digitalization projects are underway or have already proven successful in everyday operations. An example is the Speed Bin Picker, which independently sorts loose, sterilely contained syringes into plastic trays. Automation now handles a significant portion of repetitive manual work.
Vetter also keeps sustainability in mind alongside economic success: the company committed to the strict climate protection guidelines of the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) by joining the organization. Additionally, over one million euros were invested in the construction of a large photovoltaic system at the Ravensburg-West site for sustainable power generation.
Vetter CEO Thomas Otto says: “We have succeeded in further reducing our environmental footprint while achieving record sales. Our strategic approach is to treat our sustainability goals as an integral part of our corporate strategy. Therefore, we also see our fifth consecutive Best Managed Companies Award as a confirmation of this strategic aspect.”
Markus Seiz, Program Director of Best Managed Companies and Director at Deloitte Private, adds: “We have been accompanying Vetter for many years and are impressed by how the globally active family company continues to advance its strategic development and translate it into very concrete entrepreneurial actions. Vetter clearly stands out with the scope of its strategic measures and the professionalism with which its employees drive them forward, and it has earned the right to once again be among our award winners this year.”
