Vetter expands global production resources for future customer requirements
Strategic investments strengthen resilience and expand service offerings for innovative injectable therapies
– First new production facility already operational
– Continuous expansion of global filling capacities for market production
– Investments strengthen flexibility, resilience, and supply security
Vetter, a partner of global pharmaceutical and biotech companies for the manufacturing of life-enhancing medicines, is further expanding its commercial production resources. This strengthens the company's service offerings to meet the evolving requirements of pharmaceutical and biotech customers worldwide. A long-term investment program plans to expand by ten additional filling lines by 2032.
Seven of the ten planned production facilities are being established at Vetter's existing sites. Through phased implementation, additional production resources will be made available in the coming years. The first of the new sterile syringe filling lines was recently commissioned, with a second expected to follow by the end of this year. Additionally, five more facilities for aseptic filling are planned by 2028. Three further production lines are to be established at the new commercial site in Saarlouis, which is scheduled to go into operation in 2031.
"Pharmaceutical and biotech companies seek partners with extensive experience and comprehensive operational expertise to support the production of their current and future medicines," explains Managing Director Henryk Badack. "This demand is reflected in our strategy for sustainable growth. Through our continuous investments, we are expanding our global production capacity to support our customers throughout the entire lifecycle of their products."
Adjustments to operational infrastructure accompany the expansion of production capacities. Current measures include expansions in the areas of formulation, storage, and optical inspection, the introduction of modern cleanroom technology, as well as a higher degree of automation and digitalization.
"Our phased approach allows us to provide additional capacities while systematically expanding our global network," explains Managing Director Carsten Press. "These investments lay the foundation for scalable production processes, stable supply chains, and high-quality aseptic manufacturing. In this way, we support the long-term growth of our customers."
