Vaisala presents innovative environmental monitoring system: high radio range and intuitive software

Vaisala introduces a new environmental monitoring system with excellent radio range. After a complete redesign, the Vaisala viewLinc Monitoring System, which has been used for years in critical pharmaceutical environments, now offers state-of-the-art wireless technology and easy installation.

The Vaisala viewLinc Monitoring System not only enables wireless connections over long distances but also impresses with high user-friendliness and quick implementation.

"The predecessor version of the viewLinc system has been used in the pharmaceutical industry for a long time, but it is also well suited for monitoring other high-value assets where environmental conditions such as temperature or humidity play an important role. It is used in museums, galleries, and IT server rooms," explains Vaisala Product Manager Jon Aldous.

viewLinc provides users with trends, alarm notifications, and customizable reporting with reliable environmental data collected using a wide range of Vaisala devices for monitoring temperature, humidity, CO2, and other parameters. The relevant documentation is available to meet GxP compliance requirements.

VaiNet wireless signal with a range of 100 meters indoors

The new viewLinc system operates with cutting-edge wireless technology that enables reliable communication of data loggers in environments with many interference factors.

"For VaiNet, our proprietary viewLinc wireless technology, we have licensed a new radio specification with high range," reports Aldous. The signal strength between the network access points and the data loggers allows communication over a distance of more than 100 meters indoors. Walls, devices, Wi-Fi networks, or other common interference factors do not affect this range.

Redesigned user interface

"In collaboration with several long-standing customers, we created a wishlist of system features that should be simplified or automated. Time-consuming or complex steps during system installation have been eliminated or optimized; additionally, we integrated a help function into the new software interface to assist users with common tasks," says Aldous.

This results in a monitoring system that can be installed in minutes, meets compliance requirements for years, and practically solves all issues related to wireless data logging.
