Vaisala introduces new viewLinc 5.1 Enterprise Server software for enhanced device integration
Vaisala, a globally leading company for weather, environmental, and industrial measurements, introduces a new Enterprise Server software that offers seamless interoperability and extended device integration for GxP-regulated and other critical applications.
The Vaisala viewLinc monitoring system is a proven solution for continuous monitoring in the bioscience and other demanding industries. With the viewLinc monitoring system, product quality can be ensured in applications where continuous monitoring is essential, such as pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturing, biotechnology, distribution, semiconductor fabrication, and healthcare.
The new viewLinc Enterprise Server version 5.1 offers improved compatibility with other systems, integration of a larger number of devices into viewLinc, and more flexible alerting. The version now also enables direct Modbus connectivity.
âWith the new viewLinc Modbus feature, an unlimited number of parameters can be integrated into viewLinc 5.1,â explains Steven Bell, Product Manager at Vaisala. âThe version simplifies the system architecture. Additionally, it saves a lot of time because all environmental measurement data can be managed within one software.â
To enhance compatibility, the latest viewLinc version includes options for Open Platform Communications Unified Architecture (OPC UA) and Application Programming Interface (API). This allows third-party systems to directly access data from the viewLinc database. With the Vaisala OPC UA server, viewLinc data can flow into various systems, including Data Historians, Manufacturing Execution Systems, and building automation systems. The new viewLinc API enables direct connection between the viewLinc database and a system or software, allowing for a flexible, customized interface.
âThe new viewLinc options for API and OPC UA enable our customers to configure their meaningful viewLinc environmental data for use within their existing workflows and processes, rather than trying to adapt their business processes to monitoring software,â says Bell.
Further improvements to the viewLinc alarm functions make the system even more flexible for users.
âCustomers across various industries need to manage their data from anywhere due to increasing mobility,â says Bell. âThe latest version of viewLinc offers more ways to notify staff in case of alarms: screen, email, SMS, alarm sirens, forwarding to an existing alarm service, and a voice call service that can prioritize recipients.â
The viewLinc 5.1 Enterprise Server software is based on Vaisala’s commitment to meeting customer requirements and planning for industry developments.
âIt is crucial that viewLinc not only fulfills its promise of accuracy and reliability. Our customers need monitoring systems that adapt to their operational environment. We have found that compatibility and flexibility are key to optimizing and expanding the functionality of viewLinc,â adds Bell in conclusion.
