Universal Robots reports best first quarter of all time
Universal Robots (UR), the Danish pioneer of collaborative lightweight robots, reports a revenue of 85 million USD for the first quarter of the year. This represents a 30 percent increase in sales compared to the first quarter of 2021.
Kim Nørgaard Andreasen, Chief Financial Officer at Universal Robots, says:
“Companies around the world are currently facing a major test – for several reasons. These include the impacts of the pandemic, disrupted supply chains, and other challenges. That we were able to achieve such record sales in the first quarter proves only how much collaborative automation helps our customers remain competitive. Furthermore, we are pleased to have welcomed 80 new employees in our rapidly growing company just this quarter,” continues Nørgaard Andreasen.
In January, Universal Robots reported a revenue of over 311 million USD for the year 2021. The company attributes this, among other things, to the growing awareness that automation can contribute to productivity. Additionally, cobots help to address the ongoing labor shortage. Kim Nørgaard Andreasen continues:
“When we look at the trends both in society and within companies themselves, we see that automation is becoming increasingly important. We want to meet this demand and have, among other things, started building a new, larger headquarters in Denmark this month. This will create space for the further growth of our company.”
