After several weeks of voting and more than 15,000 votes cast, Universal Robots was able to win the special category "Best Training Concept" of the Best of Industry Awards. The coveted industry accolade, which has been awarded by the trade magazine MM MaschinenMarkt for the sixth time, annually honors the best of the best in the industry. This year, the award for the best training project was awarded for the first time.

Practice makes perfect

The Danish Cobot pioneer launched the UNIVERSAL ROBOTS EDUCATION program. The training concept, designed to familiarize students and apprentices with handling robots, conveys knowledge about automation in an easy and practical way. Trainees can theoretically advance their knowledge through offline simulations and classroom training, then deepen their understanding by applying it at hardware stations. The training cells include, among other things, conveyor belts with sensors or practice plates for simulating various applications. Additionally, teachers can access a variety of teaching materials: With the help of the teacher's guide, they prepare their lessons with minimal additional effort and can skillfully guide students through the challenges of automation.

Companies increasingly open to automation

Automation is not just set to play an essential role in manufacturing in the future, but already influences the present. Therefore, it is important to introduce young people to these technologies early on and proactively prevent fears of contact. Trainees who have been taught with UNIVERSAL ROBOTS EDUCATION are optimally prepared for the operational requirements of robotics. The concept gives students a competitive advantage upon completing their training and makes them highly sought-after employees. With knowledge of robot programming, they also have diverse future prospects, such as taking on more responsibility and further training other colleagues.

UR Cobot also represented in the "Robotics & Automation" category

Overall, the Best of Industry Award recognizes innovative products and projects in five categories and two special categories. In the "Robotics & Automation" category, TRUMPF Werkzeugmaschinen GmbH + Co. KG secured the victory. The long-standing Universal Robots partner developed an automated welding cell, the TruArc Weld 1000, which integrates a UR10e. The product impressed, among other things, with its extremely simple programming.
