Universal Robots appoints Benjamin Völzke as the new Head of Field Application Engineering

The world market leader in collaborative robotics, Universal Robots (UR), has appointed Benjamin Völzke as Head of Field Application Engineering Western Europe. In this new position, Völzke has been responsible for the DACH region since April 1, 2021.

"I am very much looking forward to the new challenges awaiting me at Universal Robots," comments Völzke on his new role. "It is important to me to increase customer satisfaction together with my team and to strengthen knowledge transfer. To do this, it is crucial to get to know the distributors and integrators of UR personally, in order to better understand their challenges and find suitable solutions for the needs of our end customers. Additionally, I want to consider the global market and incorporate it into my work. As a world market leader, UR can inspire others, but also has much to learn on the international stage."

Extensive experience in technical management

In 2003, Völzke began his career at the medium-sized engineering service provider and plant manufacturer VESCON. Over the past 18 years, the trained automation technician gained experience there as a project manager and in technical sales. Both professionally and privately, he has also been involved with virtual commissioning, which models production plants as digital twins and enables the simulation of PLC and robot programs before actual commissioning. "Those who know me know that the virtual world is my passion," says Völzke. Simulation can significantly reduce integration costs of complex systems, as all functional processes are optimized during development and potential sources of error can be identified in advance. With this expertise, Völzke brings valuable knowledge to a field that is increasingly relevant for cobot integration.
