A new, climate-controlled medication storage facility in Uzbekistan was recently equipped with seven insulated rapid-closure doors from Efaflex. The door specialist from Bruckberg in Lower Bavaria secured the contract through an official tender by the Uzbek Foreign Trade Chamber.

Compared to other products, the outstanding performance features of the EFA-SST-L-ISO 60 convinced in every aspect: doors of this series are already designed to meet the special requirements of temperature-controlled logistics. High operating speeds ensure consistent thermal conditions even at maximum load. In combination with a door leaf made of insulated, thermally separated louver panels, an excellent U-value of 1.4 W/m²K is achieved in the climate-controlled medication storage.

To ensure optimal sealing between the moving door louvers, double rubber seals are used, one of which is designed as a hollow chamber profile. The door leaf is sealed on both sides by a double-lipped seal running along the entire height of the door assembly. In the lintel area, sealing is also achieved with a double rubber seal. The door frame also features thermal separation towards the installation side. The entire construction is thus built without thermal bridges. The door leaf is mounted above the clear opening in a patented round spiral without contact. This ensures that it remains visually appealing and free of wear even after years; the door operation is particularly quiet. If necessary, individual louvers can be replaced quickly and easily. The Efaflex rapid-closure spiral door EFA-SST-ISO-60 can also be used as a highly insulated hall closing door.

The operator of the warehouse is Uzbekistan's leading pharmaceutical wholesaler, Dori Darmon, with more than 1,500 pharmacies nationwide. The Uzbek government holds a 36 percent stake in the company. When selecting the system, operators considered factors such as operational and personnel safety, user-friendliness, functionality, durability, as well as product and service quality. It is particularly noteworthy that after extensive sampling—especially from an energy efficiency perspective—they did not opt for the cheapest option but clearly favored a demand-oriented product "Made in Germany" for the long term.

After commissioning the new medication warehouse, the customer thanked Efaflex for the first-class and timely support in planning, ordering, transportation, and installation. However, not all employees have yet adjusted to the rapid opening and closing speeds. Some still find the doors a bit intimidating and jokingly ask whether the speeds could perhaps be reduced a little...
