Contexo GmbH, a market leader in the development and implementation of efficient automation solutions, presents a newly developed ring-tact assembly system at Motek. This turnkey special machine assembles closures for medical devices at a speed of 85 cycles per minute. Contexo operates the system with up to ten parallel workpiece stations.

The core of the system is a ring transfer with fixed division, which serves as the timed-driven workpiece carrier transport. The patented drive enables a station feed of 250 millimeters per cycle per minute. Components up to 100 x 100 millimeters in size can be processed. Depending on the application, the system can be equipped with up to 28 workstations. Each handling unit is curve-controlled, making it fast and reliable. With the integrated online laser welding unit and a camera system, the machine produces and inspects finished products within milliseconds.

The control cabinet is integrated into the system, making it very compact relative to its machine performance. The user requires only a small amount of space to set it up. All surfaces are made of stainless steel or anodized aluminum. The materials used, especially the product-carrying parts, meet even the strict requirements of the Medical Device Regulation. Contexo demonstrates with this system what production volumes and processes can be realized today with curve-controlled machines.

At the trade fair booth, visitors can also learn about the broad range of offerings from Contexo. This includes semi-automatic cells, round and linear-tact, as well as continuous motion systems for mass production. These are used in various industries, all sharing one common requirement: products must be assembled with utmost precision very quickly.
