The Mewa Group acquires the cleanroom specialist Mikroclean

The family-managed company group Mewa continues its expansion course: Since February 29th, Mikroclean GmbH, specialized in cleanroom cleaning, has become a 100% subsidiary of the Mewa Group. The textile service provider operating across Europe is thus expanding its B2B offerings with specialized services. Mikroclean is headquartered in Grafenberg near Metzingen, with one branch in Berlin and one in Essen, serving customers in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and other European countries through ten service support points. Its customers include companies from manufacturing, medical technology, as well as the pharmaceutical industry and bio-chemistry.

In 2012, Timo Speck founded Mikroclean GmbH. His experience as a technical manager in building cleaning convinced him at the time that high-quality cleanroom cleaning could only be provided by a specialist with expert knowledge. Since then, his company has developed into an innovative specialist in cleanroom cleaning. Training and qualification of personnel in cleanrooms complement the core service.

The management remains in the hands of Timo Speck and Güneş Yenen, who previously served as managing director at Mewa in England. Bernhard Niklewitz, CEO of Mewa, explains: "We want to expand and consistently intensify our expertise in cleanroom production. The partnership with Mikroclean opens up new potentials in this growth segment. We are pleased to have gained Timo Speck and his team for us and warmly welcome them to the Mewa Group." Timo Speck is looking forward to the synergies and opportunities that the umbrella of an international player offers: "I always tell our customers, 'Your cleanroom is also our cleanroom,' because cleanroom cleaning is associated with a high level of responsibility. The Mewa Group will expand its service portfolio in the cleanroom segment. The integration of Mikroclean is an important strategic step in this direction. A new operation is currently being established at the Mewa location in Meissenheim for the comprehensive care of cleanroom clothing.
