The International Symposium for Contamination Control took place in Zurich this year.

The atmosphere is relaxed, almost friendly. The setting is the university building of ETH Zurich. It is easily accessible on the university grounds in Zurich. Students walk through the corridors to their lecture halls and seminar rooms or sit in the cafeteria near the entrance area. In between, around 150 participants of the International Symposium for Contamination Control, ICCCS 2012, mingle.

From September 3rd to 7th, representatives from the cleanroom industry from around the world gathered here at the invitation of the Swiss umbrella organization SwissCCS to exchange and inform themselves about research trends and the latest scientific findings. Parallel to more than 80 lectures by international speakers, participants from various international ISO standard groups met to discuss and establish new international standards. The comprehensive program allowed for numerous short breaks in addition to lunch, during which participants could refresh themselves with coffee, tea, juice, and fruit, and connect with colleagues from other countries such as the USA or Korea; or learn about products from the cleanroom industry at one of the booths set up in the foyer of the reception area and on the floor of the seminar rooms.
