Currently, a new facility for innovative solutions in cleanroom technology is being built in the canton of Lucerne. The opening is scheduled for September 21. The client and plant operator is the Swiss subsidiary of the German company GEMÜ, which now operates worldwide. This company specializes in valves and accessories for semiconductor technology as well as customized plastic solutions for medical technology.

The building in Emmen, in the canton of Lucerne, is still receiving its final touches. The new manufacturing plant, located about 15 minutes by car from the first plant in Rotkreuz, canton of Zug, was constructed according to the latest insights and guidelines of the cleanroom industry. The plant is built for the future. Here, tradition and over 40 years of experience in valve, measurement, and control technology are combined with the latest knowledge and innovative technologies of the cleanroom industry.

The size of the plant in Emmen is impressive; the interior space offers room for the latest technology: The hygiene area for injection molding and assembly technology covers 2,500 square meters, approximately 1,800 square meters are classified as cleanroom ISO8 for injection molding technology, and another 1,000 square meters, also with cleanroom ISO8, are reserved for assembly technology. Locally, this area can be upgraded to cleanroom class ISO6.

GEMÜ, a globally operating corporate group, is aware of industry expectations. The new plant enables the company to respond even more flexibly to customer needs. A total of 23 injection molding machines with clamping forces ranging from 35 to 300 tons are waiting to be used here. GEMÜ's focus as one of the world's leading companies in plastic and valve technology lies in processing high-temperature plastics, fluoroplastics (PVDF, PFA, PTFE), glass- and carbon fiber-reinforced plastics, overmolding of insert parts, as well as manufacturing parts with internal threads and 2K injection molding. The range of services includes the production of medical technology products, single-use disposable valves, high-purity manufacturing, and finally, cleanroom assembly of modules or end products and packaging according to customer requirements. Extensive, state-of-the-art equipment is available for this purpose. Specially trained and regularly educated personnel, along with a seamless quality management system, such as testing by independent laboratories and users, ensure consistent and reproducible quality.
