The Fourth Industrial Revolution and the pharmaceutical industry
The digital world in pharmaceutical production – Case studies from the global players of the manufacturing pharmaceutical industry
Everywhere, media and lectures convey to us that the pharmaceutical industry is lagging behind in transforming new technologies into the production environment. Meanwhile, other industries are already further along digitally.
The pharmaceutical industry has also been undergoing upheaval since the advent of digital technologies. Applications such as visualization, modeling, automation, machine learning, and artificial intelligence have the potential to dematerialize manufacturing processes and facilities in the pharmaceutical industry, increasing productivity through fewer errors, higher performance, and improved quality for greater safety and faster, more reliable delivery.
In a workshop organized by ISPE D/A/CH (November 14-15, 2018, Novartis, Basel), global players from pharmaceutical companies will speak directly. They will present their current status through case studies and be available for discussion.
The keynote presentation will set the tone with "The digital revolution – Visionary overview of possibilities - Value to pharma".
These global players from the manufacturing pharmaceutical industry will showcase case studies: Novartis, Takeda, Bayer, Boehringer Ingelheim, Biogen, Merck Serono, GSK, Novo Nordisk, Johnson & Johnson, Pfizer, and Roche.
An insight into the digitalization status of other industries will be provided by the data-specialized company Tessella.
A presentation will address Big Data issues such as "Cybersecurity and Data Integrity".
There will also be interesting reports on how other initiatives, such as Pharma 4.0 and Big Data (ISPE, PDA), and Swiss parliamentary initiatives are tackling the topic.
The goal is to see case studies, learn from them, and gain impressions of the current status and the digital journey of pharmaceutical companies.
The two-day workshop intentionally features users presenting their status and experiences.
Participation in the workshop is open to anyone interested. More information and the booking link can be found at www.ispe-dach.org.
The event, with lectures and space for discussions, targets middle management executives who want to advance the strategy and direction for CMC in manufacturing, quality, and regulatory areas within their companies.
