The coating Sikafloor-2350 ESD is also conductive without a conductive film
So that the voltage goes into the ground
The industry now often demands higher individual requirements for the conductivity of floor coatings than specified by standards. The new ESD coating Sikafloor-2350 ESD from Sika Deutschland GmbH can be used without a conductive film for standard requirements; in electrostatically sensitive areas, additional usage requirements are achieved with the appropriate coating structure.
Sika continuously develops its products to realize floor coating systems that meet the increasing demands of the industry. This is also true for the volume-conductive coating Sikafloor-2350 ESD. It is suitable for both manufacturing industries and especially for highly sensitive areas of microelectronics.
The smart ESD coating
Sikafloor-2350 ESD was developed for floors where electrostatic discharge occurs via footwear and the floor. The coating is also suitable for surfaces in ESD protection zones, where in addition to a conductive surface, low electrostatic charging is required. It is free of fibers, salts, and ionic liquids, and therefore meets the requirements even at low humidity levels. Furthermore, it is resistant to water.
System structure without conductive film
For standard solutions, the conductive coating systems can be used without a conductive film, saving a step in application and thus reducing time and costs. All standards for protection against electrostatic discharge are still met. These systems can be used wherever a durable, electrostatically dissipative floor is required.
System solution for sensitive ESD areas
In areas of microelectronics where a maximum personnel charge of 30 volts is required, the conductive film supports the already excellent discharge values. Because in such electrostatically sensitive rooms, floors are required that hardly generate electrostatic charge or discharge immediately and in a controlled manner. With the appropriate coating structure from Sika, further usage requirements can be achieved.
Available in various colors
Until now, fibers in conductive floor coatings were standard and prevented the realization of vibrant colors. Sikafloor-2350 is fiber-free and available in 30 different colors.
Wide application through different system structures
The various system structures can also be used for mechanical and chemical requirements. In addition to protecting electronic components, the tested coating from Sika meets many other requirements such as the Occupational Safety Regulation TRGS 727 for explosion protection, standards DIN EN 61340-4-1 and DIN EN 61340-5-1 for electronics protection, or VDE 0100 for personal protection and VDE 0510-485-2 for battery systems.
All benefits and advantages of the new volume-conductive coating Sikafloor-2350 ESD are clearly presented in the brochure, which is available for download at http://www.sika.de/smart-esd.
