The cleanroom forklift that leaves no traces

EAP Lachnit presents the first air cushion forklift for cleanrooms and explosion-proof areas.

The Multilift is manually operated via five air cushions and floats so lightly and at the same time absolutely safely above the ground.

The load capacity is up to 250 kilograms with a jib reach of 750 millimeters or 150 kilograms with a jib reach of 1,000 millimeters.

The lift is carried out via a telescopic mast in the covered center mast using two spindles with servo drive; a flat belt serves as the lifting element with sevenfold safety against breakage.

The extremely compact forklift can rotate on the spot thanks to its air cushion drive and is also well suited for use in very confined conditions; different lifting tools are available.

The manufacturing processes in cleanrooms are carried out according to strict rules and regulations. Lifting and handling technology as well as floor conveyors must also meet these standards. The air cushion forklift is suitable, among other things, for use in electronics manufacturing (semiconductor production), the pharmaceutical industry, or the glass industry. Thanks to its compact yet robust design, it is extremely maneuverable, can lift even the heaviest loads, and is versatile due to optional equipment.

The requirements for the production environment in the electronics, pharmaceutical, or glass industries are very high. Even the smallest contaminants can lead to production errors with fatal consequences. Therefore, many manufacturers carry out production in cleanroom conditions. The conveyor technology specialist EAP Lachnit offers a dedicated portfolio of solutions made of stainless steel to meet these requirements. Its product family of stainless steel floor conveyors has now been expanded with the Multilift. The special feature of this innovative forklift: it drives on air cushions! The design is a clever alternative to forklifts with wheels. Because these need to generate friction to create traction. However, this also produces abrasion and thus contaminants, which must be strictly avoided in cleanrooms.

In contrast, the Multilift is manually operated via five air cushions with diameters of 300 millimeters each, allowing it to float lightly and absolutely safely above the floor. The pressure of each air cushion can be controlled individually, preventing tilting or tipping when carrying loads. The extremely compact forklift can rotate on the spot thanks to its air cushion drive and is also well suited for use in very confined spaces.

Outside protected areas, optional operation using mounted rollers is also possible. The forklift is completely made of stainless steel, with its surfaces electropolished, eliminating any paint abrasion. Due to its construction and smooth surfaces, the Multilift is very easy to clean. It complies with protection class IP 67.

Floating lifting

The load capacity is up to 250 kilograms with a boom reach of 750 millimeters or 150 kilograms with a boom reach of 1,000 millimeters. The compact column design has a diameter of 850 millimeters. The self-weight is approximately 1,650 kilograms. To enable versatile use, different lifting tools are available, as well as a swiveling crane boom in articulated arm construction.

The lifting is performed via a telescopic mast in a covered central mast using two spindles with servo drive. A flat belt serves as the lifting element, with sevenfold safety against breakage. The lifting speed is infinitely adjustable from 0.25 mm/s to 50 mm/s. Operation is via radio control, power supply via cable, and air supply via hose with quick coupling.
