Technomer 2017

On November 9 and 10, 2017, the established conference Technomer will take place at the Chemnitz University of Technology. Developers, users, and all those interested in plastics will be provided with a platform to exchange information on current developments, innovative processes, and experiences with the use of new technologies in plastics and rubber engineering.

The Institute for Support Technology and Plastics at TU Chemnitz, together with the Plastics Center in Leipzig and the Leibniz Institute for Polymer Research Dresden, organizes the international conference Technomer, which has been held every two years since 1969.

The special strength of Technomer is its cross-technology orientation. The spectrum ranges from processing technology to extrusion and film technology, injection molding, fiber-reinforced technology, elastomer technology, to design/joining technology and plastics testing.

Professionals are offered a unique insight into the latest state of research, development, and application in the field of plastics and rubber engineering through approximately 80 lectures and numerous technical posters. The Scientific Working Group of university professors in plastics engineering awards the best scientific papers at Technomer and presents the WAK awards 2017 on site.

The KUZ moderates the sections Testing Technology and Injection Molding at this year's Technomer, presents 7 posters on current research projects, and gives two lectures on the topics "Injection-molded micro-precision parts for reducing thermomechanical stresses in MEMS" and "Development of heated roll seam ultrasonic welding tools for continuous welding of films made of high-temperature plastics."
