T4M: New trade fair for the international medical technology industry in Germany

In a few weeks, the trade fair T4M – Technology for Medical Devices – will open its doors in Stuttgart for the first time. From May 7 to 9, 2019, the medical technology industry will showcase its products and solutions in the areas of manufacturing technology, production environment, services, components, and materials. Visitors from purchasing, production, design, product management, research & development, as well as business development will benefit from the comprehensive information offering and have the opportunity to make new contacts.

Trade fair and accompanying program under one roof

The T4M offers an attractive accompanying program with a mix of forums, workshops, guided tours, and networking, promising to be more than just a trade fair. The agenda particularly includes topics such as MDR, smart production, or digitalization, with a clear focus on materials, manufacturing, and production. The "all under one roof" concept of T4M allows visitors to experience the diverse offerings without having to travel long distances.

Medical Device Regulation in focus

Medical Device Regulation is currently the top topic in the medical technology industry. Given the approaching deadlines, MDR is also at the top of the agenda at T4M.

The trade fair begins with a Medical Device Regulations Dialogue on "STAGE BLUE" in the exhibition hall during the opening, with representatives from politics and industry invited by the Tuttlinger Cluster MedicalMountains. Additional expertise will be provided by lawyer Miriam Schuh in her keynote and a workshop by MedicalMountains. Throughout the following days, MDR will also be discussed in various presentations on the forum stages. Trends shape the future of medical technology

At the "T4M Start-up World," around 60 startups will present their innovative solutions for medicine and medical technology at their exhibition booths over the three days. At the connected pitching stage, young companies, researchers, and developers will present their visions and concepts to a jury of investors, the medical technology industry, and startup experts for areas such as diagnostics, imaging, production technology, rehab, homecare, and clinics.

Representatives from research and development will gain new impulses from the free workshops on topics such as "Smart Health," "Biointelligence," and many more, and are invited to participate in discussions.

Challenges and solutions for purchasing in medical technology

Interested parties from global sourcing, material group management, technical and strategic purchasing, as well as supply chain management will benefit multiple times from the cooperation between the Federal Association for Material Management, Purchasing, and Logistics e.V. (BME) and T4M – alongside the specialist forum including guided tours on the second day, there will be a workshop with group work and interactive discussions on the third day. Additionally, the "Buyers Lounge" invites all three days for intensive exchange with industry colleagues.

Event orientation towards market needs

The new trade fair was launched jointly with the supporting organizations VDMA Working Group Medical Technology and the Swiss Professional Association Swiss Medtech, in collaboration with industry experts and the T4M trade fair advisory board. The clear goal is to establish a long-term, technology-oriented supplier trade fair for medical technology in Stuttgart, create real added value for the industry, and actively network the sector.
