Swiss Medtech Expo impressed as a high-quality industry meeting point

The second Swiss Medtech Expo successfully concluded. Over 1,600 specialists from medical technology used the trade fair for knowledge exchange and networking. The highlight of the Swiss Medtech Expo was the launch of the platform Medtech.plus, which is now becoming the digital meeting point for the medtech industry.

"We are very satisfied with this year's Swiss Medtech Expo," says trade fair director Fabrizio Raffa. On the one hand, around 10 percent more visitors were mobilized; on the other hand, there was a pleasant atmosphere in the well-filled exhibition hall, and stimulating conversations could be heard at all booths. The great strength of the Swiss Medtech Expo was the high quality of the visitors. "We succeeded in bringing together the right professionals for personal exchange," summarizes Fabrizio Raffa. This is also confirmed by Roland Stähli from Stähli + Co.: "At the Swiss Medtech Expo, the specialists were on site with whom we could discuss concrete projects or future ideas."

Inspiration for your own projects

Over 170 exhibitors showed during the two days of the fair in which areas of medical technology have potential and how innovations emerge from new designs, materials, technologies, and processes. Inspiration for their own projects was also provided to the trade visitors through the 36 lectures at the Innovation Symposium. "Together with renowned competence partners, we were able to put together a high-quality program and give visitors a glimpse behind the development of innovations," explains Fabrizio Raffa. Thus, they received inspiration, valuable contacts, and concrete ideas for their own projects.

Medtech.plus is officially launched

The highlight of the Swiss Medtech Expo was the launch of Medtech.plus, the digital platform for medical technology. Here, the Swiss medtech community meets for exchange – 365 days a year. Providers of solutions for medical technology present their expertise on Medtech.plus and make it accessible to users.

"With Medtech.plus, we are thus achieving a novel and permanent networking of the medtech industry," explains Matthias Baldinger, project manager of Industry+. Interested parties can become part of the Medtech.plus community for free at www.medtech.plus. Since the community already includes over 1,500 registered users, the interest from providers was correspondingly high during the Swiss Medtech Expo. For Matthias Baldinger, the reason is obvious: "For providers, Medtech.plus is an interesting channel to be found and contacted by potential customers."

Analog and digital into the future

With Medtech.plus, the concept of the Swiss Medtech Expo has been extended into the digital world. "We are convinced that we can contribute to strengthening the industry by creating places where the industry can exchange ideas – both analog and digital," explains René Ziswiler, head of industrial fairs at Messe Luzern. For René Ziswiler, it is clear that with the digital expansion of the Swiss Medtech Expo, they are on the right track. "However, there is still potential, and we are now doing everything to significantly expand the trade fair together with our partners." The next Swiss Medtech Expo will take place from September 17 to 18, 2019.
