Conveyor screws from EAP Lachnit are the best choice for transporting and dosing a wide variety of goods in food, chemical, and pharmaceutical production. The stainless steel design meets the highest hygiene standards and simplifies cleaning. They are suitable for dosing bulk materials as well as for rework processes in food production. EAP Lachnit also offers conveyor screws that can be individually configured as robust and durable conveying systems.

Conveyor screws are transport systems suitable for the safe conveying of bulk materials of various types. They operate on the principle of a rotating screw (Archimedean screw) made from robust and durable stainless steel. The bulk material rests on the screw and is transported in the desired direction through continuous rotation. The conveyor screw can be oriented horizontally, vertically, or at an angle. The rotating helix is usually housed within a pipe, a U-shaped or Omega trough, which serves as a boundary for the conveyed material. For the diverse applications in food production (such as fruit, vegetables, or meat) or granular substances, for example in chemical or pharmaceutical manufacturing, conveyor screws are perfectly suited as a transport medium.

An additional interesting and economical application is rework processes in food production, such as in the manufacture of processed cheese. This involves reusing food products that have been separated out during conveying or processing. As long as these are hygienically safe and unaltered, they can be reintroduced as high-quality raw materials into production after proper processing. A conveyor screw also serves as the transport medium here. This is a very cost-effective option in food production that also helps reduce resource waste.

Optionally, the conveyor screws can be steam-heated during operation. This allows for continuous heating and/or drying of powdery, pasty, or liquid bulk materials.

Conveying and Dosing

Thanks to their modular design, conveyor screws can be used over long distances, up to six meters. Typically, two storage units—at the beginning and end of the screw—close the system. Depending on the required length, multiple intermediate storage units can also be installed. This makes such conveying lengths very flexible, depending on spatial conditions. The funnel of the conveyor screw, also made of stainless steel, can be loaded manually, with tipping machines, or with a crane using a "Big Bag".

Another advantage of EAP Lachnit's conveyor screws is their use as dosers: with a specific rotation, they enable precise dosing of the conveyed material. In food production, conveyor screws are used, for example, for dosing bulk materials such as grated cheese or rice, but also meat products. The exact amount is dosed for processing. A level sensor indicates when the filling funnel is empty.

The conveying quantity and height are adjusted to the customer's requirements by the custom machine builder EAP Lachnit. The devices are made of stainless steel, which ensures that the surfaces are absolutely smooth. This minimizes deposits and makes the systems quick and thorough to clean. The control cabinet for the electrical components is also made entirely of stainless steel.
