They came, saw, and were impressed: With a cleanroom cabin from bc-technology GmbH, which showcased different requirements and situations in a cleanroom on the exhibition stage and presented the protective function through visualizations of various airflow types, the Camfil KG, together with bc-technology GmbH and STERIS Germany GmbH, attracted the professional audience at LOUNGES 2014 to the joint demonstration stage. Interested visitors gathered information at the Camfil booth, especially about the CamContain safety enclosure for highly sensitive air filtration, the complete solution for ceiling filter housings, the Pharmaseal-E, and the FFU with a particularly energy-efficient H14 class HEPA filter. The team from bc-technology GmbH answered all questions regarding cleanroom technical concepts as well as the effects of potential interference sources in the cleanroom. Safe handling was the main focus. With the H2O2 gas generator VHP1000ED-S, STERIS Germany GmbH convincingly demonstrated the advantages of decontaminating cleanrooms and HEPA filters using the hydrogen peroxide vaporization process “VHP®”.

After three days of the trade fair, LOUNGES 2014 concluded on June 5th. On this platform, which combines the idea of a trade fair with the goals of a lecture event, Camfil KG was able to convincingly present expertise and know-how in the field of cleanroom energy optimization.

Positive Conclusion

The focus on the demonstration stage was on energy efficiency and process safety. Horst Wilkens / Camfil, Harald Wodtke / bc-technology, and Gerhard Lauth / Steris Germany provided exciting insights into cleanroom and airflow technology through lectures and live demonstrations on the demonstration stage. With a cleanroom cabin in operation, visitors received interesting impulses regarding air filter solutions for cleanroom processes and experienced firsthand the difference between turbulence-free displacement airflow and turbulent mixing ventilation. Additionally, the CamContain CS safety enclosure was shown, demonstrating how an innovative filter tensioning technique prevents contamination of the maintenance bag and lid interior. Filter leak tests in installed condition according to ISO 14644 (in-situ testing) were explained on the object, and decontamination with H2O2 according to TRBA 100 requirements (in-situ testing) was thoroughly explained.
