Successful completion of SurfaceTechnology GERMANY
With around 4,000 visitors from 53 nations, representing an international share of 32 percent, SurfaceTechnology GERMANY 2024 successfully concluded on June 6th. The approximately 240 exhibitors provided a consistently positive assessment: intensive discussions, a high proportion of first-class contacts, and a well-attended specialist forum on all three trade fair days met the expectations set. Once again, the event demonstrates that surface technology is a cross-sectional technology at home in all industrial sectors.
With 96 percent, the proportion of trade visitors was expectedly high, which is also reflected in the quality of the conversations. The most visited countries after Germany were Italy, Switzerland, Turkey, India, Austria, France, the Netherlands, Poland, and Portugal. The share of international visitors was particularly significant at 34 percent. Top management was also very well represented with 34 percent, and around 79 percent came with investment considerations for the event.
High quality of contacts and conversations
An important area of SurfaceTechnology GERMANY is traditionally the joint stand of the ZVO. With its 60 companies, the joint stand once again delivered an impressive presentation of electroplating technology. "Our high expectations for this year's SurfaceTechnology GERMANY regarding the quality of discussions and visitors, as well as concrete investment plans, have been met. Our co-exhibitors also draw a positive first conclusion and report good contacts and intensive, productive conversations, both with existing and potential customers. Many visitors came with specific needs, inquiries, and projects for the fair. The topic of networking and exchange with industry peers also played a traditionally significant role," summarizes ZVO Managing Director Christoph Matheis.
High demand for information in the forum
The specialist forum has always been a magnet for visitors and an important part of the event. With 52 technical presentations – mostly from the circle of exhibitors – the forum set a new record this year. The interest of visitors on all three days was also gratifying. This was mainly due to the interesting content of the presentations and the skillful presentation style of most speakers, who were able to explain complex issues clearly. Topics that are of pressing concern to companies in surface technology, such as new approaches to reducing emissions, saving energy, or introducing new processes for surface modification, garnered particular interest.
Highlights in the forum also included the awarding of the Stuttgart Innovation Prize DIE OBERFLÄCHE by the Fraunhofer IPA. The 2024 winner is Holzapfel Metallveredelung. J. Wagner took second place, and TE Connectivity is pleased to have secured third place.
The next SurfaceTechnology GERMANY will be held from June 9 to 11, 2026, in Stuttgart.
