With a new production plant, Sto increases the capacity for epoxy (EP) and polyurethane (PU) resins by around one-third. To this end, Sto SE & Co. KGaA (Stühlingen) invested in a new vacuum dissolver at the Rüsselsheim plant for its 100-percent subsidiary StoCretec GmbH. "This investment is a clear commitment to the German site. It was important to adapt the production capacities to our growth strategy and to ensure long-term supply capability for our customers," explains Sto management board member Michael Keller.

Within a year, Sto built the new vacuum dissolver, which now handles the production of epoxy and polyurethane resins. The trial operation started in August, and regular operation is planned for late autumn. The entire plant complies with ATEX guidelines and increases the performance of the Rüsselsheim site by 32 percent. The dissolver was integrated into an existing hall, allowing the new production to largely utilize existing infrastructure as well.
