Whether you're a career starter or a lab professional: The analytica Job Day in Munich focuses on profession and career. On the last day of the fair, HR managers from many renowned analytica exhibitors come together to answer questions from applicants. A comprehensive lecture program provides insights into the career prospects offered by top employers in the life sciences industry. The analytica Job Day takes place as part of analytica, the International Leading Trade Fair for Laboratory Technology, Analytics, and Biotechnology, on April 13th at the Munich Exhibition Grounds.

On the final day of the fair, both graduates and industry professionals focus on career opportunities. jobvector is the first point of contact for specialized job postings in the sciences, medicine, and engineering. At analytica 2018, the job board is represented in the jobvector Career Forum. Here, companies present themselves and discuss entry opportunities, areas of responsibility, and individual career options in the life sciences industry. HR representatives from well-known companies are available for one-on-one interviews with applicants at the jobvector Career Forum. To get an impression of a potential employer on site, the extensive supporting program offers lectures directly from the companies. In 2018, HR managers from ATV GmbH, BioM Biotech Cluster Development GmbH, Eppendorf AG, Optares GmbH & Co KG, Shimadzu Europa GmbH, apceth Biopharma GmbH, and many other corporations and medium-sized companies will participate. Student Day: Perfectly Prepared for the Sciences

Simultaneously, Student Day takes place, where young people can learn about careers in science, prerequisites for studying, and future career fields. The lectures on the content and perspectives of various degree programs give students an initial impression of what the sciences can offer them. From questions like “How does an internship in the lab work?” to lectures on different degree programs, everything is included here. Student Day is organized by the German Chemical Society (GDCh), the Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (GBM), and the Association for Biology, Life Sciences, and Biomedicine (VBIO).

Student Day is aimed at high school students, and participation is free of charge. Interested individuals must register in advance.

Science Slam as a Crowd Magnet

At analytica, young scientists again have the opportunity to prove themselves in front of an audience during a Science Slam. In this format — a science competition on stage — young researchers can present their current research in creative 10-minute presentations. Aids — whether PowerPoint presentations, props, or live experiments — are allowed. The goal is to reach the minds and hearts of the audience with scientific topics, as the audience forms the jury and decides through scoring who was the best and who presented their topic particularly understandably.

The Science Slam at analytica takes place on Friday, April 13th, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM in Hall A3 at the Biotech Forum, as part of the Jobvector Career Forum.

The Science Slam was initiated by Eppendorf and is additionally supported by the industry association SPECTARIS, Shimadzu, and other exhibitors of analytica.
