Often a single electrical spark is enough to disable highly sensitive electronic equipment. Gerflor offers the Mipolam EL series, specialized flooring for cleanrooms and facilities in the electrical and high-tech industries, which prevents damage caused by electrostatic charges. This also helps prevent potential explosion hazards from gas and dust.

Even electrostatic voltage levels of 10 volts can lead to critical situations. Not only for electronic devices but also for people, electrostatic discharges, known in technical jargon as ESD (ElectroStatic Discharge), are not always harmless. Additionally, they can lead to quality defects in manufactured products that are not immediately visible.

Therefore, Mipolam EL supports in two ways: the flooring is available as both conductive (Mipolam EL5) and dissipative (Mipolam EL7), each in various colors and patterns. From March 2014, a new color palette will be available.

• Made from carefully selected and safe raw materials that are free of heavy metals, solvents, formaldehyde, and substances that violate the EU REACH regulation.

Additionally, Gerflor Mipolam EL contributes to LEED certification (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design), an internationally recognized green building certification system. This is primarily due to the low-emission materials from FloorScore-certified products. Gerflor itself also employs two LEED specialists.
