SMC on the path to success: One week, three trade fairs, countless innovations

SMC, the specialist for automation solutions, demonstrated its versatility and innovative strength three times last week: simultaneously, the company was present at SPS, the trade fair for industrial automation; Semicon, the leading trade fair for the semiconductor industry; and Compamed, the leading trade fair for medical suppliers. Despite the significant logistical effort, SMC impressed at each event with its innovative products and solutions and demonstrated exceptional organizational talent.

At Compamed 2024, the world's leading trade fair for suppliers and manufacturers in the science sector, SMC showcased an impressive portfolio of innovative solutions for medical manufacturing and energy-saving solutions at the Düsseldorf exhibition. As a leading manufacturer and solutions provider for pneumatic, fluidic, and electrical automation technology, SMC displayed not only high-tech products but also customized plug-and-play solutions and assemblies tailored specifically to the individual requirements of customers. Particular attention was paid to the broad product range in key areas such as laboratory automation, imaging diagnostics, sterilizers, disinfectants, therapy, and medical training, as well as liquid handling. The greatest product interest among visitors at the SMC booth was in the areas of lab automation (complete systems), sensor technology, and miniature gas valves. There were also very intensive customer discussions about "Customized Solutions," where SMC can also offer sub-assemblies for devices. With decades of global life sciences expertise and international development and manufacturing capacity, SMC emphasized its role as a strong partner for the medical technology industry. By combining technological know-how with customer-oriented solutions, SMC once again sets standards in medical technology and actively contributes to the development of revolutionary technologies.

At SPS 2024 in Nuremberg, SMC immersed itself with visitors into the digital production world of tomorrow and presented practical solutions for smart and connected automation. The company introduced a wide range of innovative technologies specifically tailored to the requirements of Industry 4.0. A particular highlight was the forward-looking solutions in mobile automation technology, including wireless products, IO-Link and Easy-Setting solutions, as well as products for mobile networking and predictive maintenance. SMC demonstrated how these technologies help make production processes more efficient, interconnected, and smarter.

With its strong development and innovation capabilities, decades of industry experience, and active customer proximity, SMC emphasized its role as a reliable partner for automation solutions—worldwide and with short procurement channels—at SPS. The trade fair also provided an ideal opportunity to exchange ideas with customers and interested parties and to work together on the challenges of digital automation.

The Semicon trade fair—Europe's leading platform for electronics manufacturing—offered SMC the opportunity in the Munich exhibition halls to showcase its comprehensive portfolio of solutions for the electronics and semiconductor industry. As an experienced partner in the industry, SMC presented innovative approaches and products that optimize the diverse applications and processes in modern electronics manufacturing. Visitors showed particular interest in F-gas-compliant temperature control devices and SMC's air management system (AMS).
