Series WPR5000 expanded with new sizes

The Zimmer Group is expanding its proven tool changer series WPR5000 with the additional size WPR5031. With a circle of 31.5 according to EN ISO 9409-1, this particularly compact variant is now available. This responds specifically to the increasing demand for smaller, high-performance solutions for flexible automation environments.

Downtimes and long tool change times often cost valuable resources. In many automated processes, time-consuming or imprecise tool changes lead to stoppages and inefficient workflows – especially when flexibility and speed are crucial. The WPR5000 series tool changers provide a solution here, enabling automated change processes with high repeat accuracy and short cycle times.

The new size WPR5031 complements the portfolio with a compact solution without compromising performance and safety. Overall, the series now includes eight sizes ranging from circle of 31.5 to 160, covering a broad spectrum of applications – from small handling tasks to applications with payloads over 500 kg.

A key feature of the WPR5000 series is the innovative bolt locking system. The line contact allows the absorption of high forces and moments while ensuring maximum stability. This is complemented by a spring-loaded, self-locking mechanism and optionally integrated sensors that meet the highest safety requirements – ideal for machines and systems where performance level d / control category 3 is required.

Furthermore, the series offers the highest variety of options for energy transfer. Different energy elements enable the integration of pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical signals, load currents, and communication interfaces into a single system. The standard IP54 corrosion protection and maintenance-free operation of up to five million cycles emphasize its high reliability in industrial use.
