Screws and nuts in hygienic design
The standard part specialist Ganter expands its Hygienic Design product range with new screws and nuts made from stainless steel as well as FDA-compliant elastomer sealing rings.
Hygienic cleanliness is not only an essential prerequisite in production within the food and pharmaceutical industries. Other sectors, such as the manufacture of dispersion as a building material, also benefit from high hygiene standards. Often, this allows for the omission of preservatives without compromising the product's shelf life.
Production machines and their surroundings require thorough cleaning. Using conventional components involves time- and cost-intensive disassembly, long machine downtimes, and significant consumption of water, cleaning agents, and energy. Not so with components designed in Hygienic Design: These are made from high-quality materials with particularly smooth surfaces and are therefore much easier to clean, especially when assembled.
Following this, Ganter is now introducing stainless steel nuts and screws under the GN 1580 series within its Hygienic Design product family, which meet the high requirements of EHEDG optimally. Their design features a special geometry and a surface roughness of < 0.8 µm, causing liquids to bead off quickly and speeding up the drying process after cleaning. As standard, FDA-compliant elastomer sealing rings are installed on the contact surface, which are nearly impossible to lose and are neatly centered within the assembled space. When assembled, they experience the necessary compression without being overstressed.
The sealing rings are available under the designation GN 7600 in various dimensions, individually and upon request also in other materials. They serve as spare parts for the nuts and screws, and also enable a dead-space-free and hygienic fastening of additional components.
