Scratch- and burr-free, and then also clean

When it comes to cleanliness of components and surfaces, everyone thinks of cleaning. However, this is only one side of the coin. The second is deburring. Because only burr- and chip-free components ensure that cleanliness requirements can be met. Efficient methods for burr- and chip-free as well as clean components and surfaces are demonstrated at the 2nd Specialist Conference "Deburring and Cleaning". The event organized by fairXperts GmbH will take place on February 25 and 26, 2014, at K3N in Nuremtingen.

Castings, machined workpieces, or reshaped components – chips and burrs are practically unavoidable during the manufacturing of metallic parts. To meet the today’s demanding and sometimes very strict cleanliness requirements in industries such as automotive, aerospace, medical technology, hydraulics, fine mechanics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and many others, these “residues” from production must be removed completely and without residue. This ensures that they do not detach later and cause damage or system failures.

But which processes are available for reliable deburring, and which is best suited for each application? These questions are addressed at the 2nd Specialist Conference "Deburring and Cleaning", which takes place on February 25 and 26, 2014, at the K3N Culture and Conference Center in Nuremtingen, on the first day of the event. The introductory lecture will also cover aspects such as reducing and avoiding burrs. The subsequent presentations will focus on the various procedures and their application possibilities. Vibratory finishing is just as much on the agenda as the latest developments in high-pressure deburring and flow grinding, as well as dry ice blasting. Chemical, electrochemical, and thermal deburring are additional technologies that will be discussed during the conference. The lectures on vacuum suction blasting for efficient deburring and part cleaning, as well as cleaning-compatible machining as preparation for industrial cleaning processes, create a perfect transition to the second day, which centers on industrial component and surface cleaning. Not only different methods such as solvent, high-pressure, and spray cleaning, as well as impulse technology, will be discussed, but also cleaning adapted to various deburring procedures. Participants will also gain insight into the crucial role that the cleaning container plays in effective and economical cleaning. Process optimization through control and reconditioning of cleaning media and measuring component cleanliness – from the optimal use of measurement technology to its limits – are other areas where the conference imparts knowledge.

Alongside the conference, an accompanying exhibition will showcase solutions and new developments for deburring and cleaning. The conference is aimed at specialists and managers from production planning, manufacturing, development and design, process engineering, and quality assurance.
