Schreiner Group opens new production site

Guests could witness live how the Schreiner Group produces high-tech labels at the Dorfen site.

During a tour of the new production site, guests were able to learn about the individual production steps of Schreiner Group.

With a ceremonial act, Schreiner Group officially opened its new production site in Dorfen near Erding (Upper Bavaria) last Friday. This continues the company's ongoing growth trajectory. Numerous guests and employees from the headquarters in Oberschleißheim attended to celebrate the start of production at the new facility together with CEO Roland Schreiner and Dorfen's mayor, Heinz Grundner.

"A very special thanks goes to all employees who have worked over many months to ensure that we can celebrate the opening of the new production site today," said Roland Schreiner in his speech. "Our goal now is to ramp up the capacities steadily and professionally. In the final expansion stage, we will handle a significant portion of our labels for the pharmaceutical industry in Dorfen." Mayor Heinz Grundner also sees good reason for joy: "We are very pleased to welcome Schreiner Group as a modern family-owned company as a new employer in our town."

The biggest challenges in setting up the new plant were factory planning and personnel management. "We successfully recruited new skilled workers in the region and at the same time gained experienced employees from our headquarters for a change. This has resulted in a fantastic team," reports project manager Matthias Meier. Over the course of the coming year, additional screen printing machines including final inspection will be installed in Dorfen, and a line for producing hanging labels for infusion bottles will be set up — including pre-inspection, dispensing machine, and final inspection. "At the same time, we will gradually establish a two-shift operation. Therefore, we are looking for more motivated employees from the region and look forward to qualified applications," says Meier.

As the Schreiner Group produces its innovative high-tech labels, the distinguished guests experienced the process live at the Dorfen production site on Friday. Since early October, the 11-color screen printing system and the final inspection machines have been operating at full capacity — the very good order situation leaves no room for delay. During a tour of the approximately 5,000-square-meter building, the site employees explained the individual production steps of their daily work: printing plate production, screen printing, further processing, final inspection, logistics, quality assurance, and shipping.

Special focus areas for Schreiner Group are sustainability as well as employee satisfaction and well-being. With an innovative and energy-efficient climate technology in the building, the company also meets its high standards in Dorfen.
