SCHMIDT® Flow Sensor SS 23.400 ATEX3
Company SCHMIDT Technology expands its product range and offers a new thermal flow sensor for use in explosion hazard areas. Developed for operation according to ATEX guidelines, the SS 23.400 sensor complies with device category 3G and can thus be used in ATEX Zone 2.
The immersion probe with a 9 mm thin stainless steel sensing element is used to measure flow velocity and ? direction of clean air and gases. The electronics based on a microprocessor are integrated into the sensor tube. The robust sensor head connects tightly to it, and the extremely fast measuring element is housed in the aerodynamically shaped flow chamber, protected from mechanical stress.
The measurement data is output via an analog output with current or voltage signal; two switching outputs indicate flow direction and threshold exceedance.
Using a programming kit, response time, threshold, and switching polarity can be adjusted to meet on-site operational requirements via a serial interface.
Application examples: painting systems, flow measurement of gases, monitoring of exhaust hoods, flow measurement in medical devices and testing stations
Technical Data: Device designation: II 3G Ex nA T4, Measurement range: 1 / 2.5 / 5 / 10 / 20 m/s (unidirectional or bidirectional), Pressure: atmospheric 700 ... 1300 hPa, Operating voltage: 12 ... 24 VDC, Output: 0 / 4...20mA, 0 ... 2V / 5V / 10V
