SCHMIDT Technology has introduced a thermal flow sensor that is unique of its kind. It is an immersion probe capable of measuring both the flow velocity and flow direction of air and gases. The only 9 mm thin stainless steel sensing tube houses not only the sensor element but also the highly integrated microprocessor-based electronics. The very fast measuring element allows response times of 10 ms. The sensor is robustly constructed; the sensing element is reliably protected against mechanical stress by an aerodynamic flow chamber. In addition to the analog output, the sensor features a directional and a threshold output. The sensor can be programmed on-site via a serial interface, allowing the response time and threshold to be precisely adjusted to the application.

Applications:
Laminar flow monitoring in cleanrooms, monitoring of recirculation or balancing flow between two rooms, room overpressure control, room comfort measurements, cooling air monitoring, flow control in protective gas atmospheres, mobile flow measuring devices, flow measurement in medical technology devices.
