Samples and processes thermally verify
Temperature indicators support quality assurance of medical procedures
The current portfolio of the trading and consulting company Kager includes a wide range of test strips for visualization, monitoring, and recording of surface temperatures. Specifically compiled for use in quality assurance of medical and medical-technical processes, the company now offers a selection of threshold indicators and drug test strips. These are the first products of the new Kager Medical Line.
In many applications of medicine and medical technology, self-adhesive temperature measurement labels are an indispensable means of thermal quality assurance. They must be easy to use, provide reliable results, and be unambiguously readable. As part of the development of its new Medical Line, the German trading and consulting company Kager has now assembled an initial selection of such indicators, tailored for the visualization, monitoring, and control of surface temperatures of medical and medical-technical containers, vessels, and packaging. On the one hand, these are measurement points and strips of the type Tempstrip for indicating temperature exceedances, and on the other hand, drug test strips for verifying urine samples.
Irreversibly document threshold values
The measurement points and strips of the Kager house brand Tempstrip feature irreversible color change indicators with various vertical or horizontal scales in degrees Celsius. They can be used to monitor temperature exceedances both in the supply chains of packaged medicines and remedies and within the framework of quality assurance of medical and medical-technical processes and procedures. Depending on the variant, they are suitable for visualizing temperatures from +29°C to +260°C. Due to the irreversibility of their result display, the Tempstrip indicators can also be used for detection, recording, and documentation.
A Tempstrip strip and point are always glued directly onto the surface from which the temperature is to be measured. The rule of thumb is: the lower the thermal conductivity of the surface, the longer the color change takes. For temperatures up to 100°C, the measurement tolerance is ±1°C; for higher temperatures, it is ±1%. Manipulation of the indicator without destruction is not possible. Kager supplies these test strips and measurement points in numerous variants with different formats as well as with 5-, 6-, 8-, and 10-field scales. Depending on the quantity, customized or product-specific special versions can also be provided.
Reliable verification of urine samples
The Kager drug test strips for verifying urine samples are designed to meet institutional requirements for general drug screenings. With their help, it is possible to determine and record whether the temperature of a urine sample is within the acceptable range of 32°C to 38°C within a maximum of four minutes after the sample is taken. To do this, the small label with its six-part scale is glued onto the sample container. It then indicates compliance with the temperature and thus the validity of the sample by displaying a green dot. Thanks to their simple handling, these test strips are a practical solution for drug screenings in hospitals, medical practices, or blood donation centers.
Both the Tempstrip indicators and the drug test strips are supplied by Kager in small and large quantities for manual or automated use. They can also be stored easily over longer periods.
