SÜDPACK wins PackTheFuture Award

For the forward-looking combination of product protection, high convenience, and excellent recyclability, the Multipeel PurePP solution from SÜDPACK was awarded the PackTheFuture Award.

Excellent product protection and high convenience combined with very good recyclability: The film packaging Multipeel PurePP from SÜDPACK meets all three requirements – providing real added value for people and the environment. SÜDPACK receives the PackTheFuture Award for this innovative product in the "Save Food" category. The award is jointly presented by the French association for plastic and flexible packaging, ELIPSO, and the German industry association for plastic packaging, Kunststoffverpackungen e.V.

The essential contribution that plastic packaging, in particular, makes to the safety and shelf life of food is currently also becoming more evident during the COVID-19 pandemic. The PackTheFuture Award therefore recognizes plastic packaging that meets the various requirements such as product protection and sustainability in an innovative way – like the resealable Multipeel PurePP from SÜDPACK: "It is an excellent example of how food packaging that offers both protection and resealability can be lightweight, recyclable, and sustainable at the same time," according to the jury, which selected SÜDPACK's solution from a total of 58 submissions as the only winner in the "Save Food" category.

Strong commitment to the development of sustainable films

"We are very proud of this award," explains Erik Bouts, spokesperson for SÜDPACK's management. "It shows that our efforts to develop particularly sustainable yet high-performance film packaging are on the right track." Recyclability and material reduction are important areas of action in the company's own roadmap for sustainable film packaging. In both areas, the polypropylene (PP)-based Multipeel PurePP meets high standards: The renowned institute cyclos - HTP certifies the material with a very high recyclability of 95 percent. It is evaluated how well the entire packaging, consisting of bottom and top film, can be recycled by modern recycling plants.

Multipeel PurePP is part of SÜDPACK's new Pure-Line. All members of the film family are made from PP material and are therefore particularly recyclable. In addition to Multipeel PurePP, the Pure-Line also includes the soft film Multifol PurePP and the flow pack solution Flow Pack PurePP. The use of monomaterials in all Pure-Line products does not compromise product protection or convenience. Multipeel PurePP seals absolutely securely and is particularly suitable for products such as milk and meat, but also sweets, snacks, and even technical items. Thanks to resealability, consumers can portion out fresh products and store them safely without repacking.
