SÜDPACK Medica and Liveo Research combine their strengths at the Connect in Pharma

"PharmaGuard" is the name of the innovative blister concept for solid applications, which SÜDPACK Medica will showcase at the trade fair and the accompanying congress in Geneva in mid-June at booth E1, attracting the attention of industry professionals.

PharmaGuard sets standards. The top and bottom films, produced through a unique coextrusion process, are based on polypropylene (PP) and can be easily classified as a complete monomaterial solution within existing material streams. Furthermore, the solution impresses with outstanding material efficiency and significantly conserves resources due to the low density of PP, while maintaining high yield. According to a life cycle analysis conducted by Sphera, the packaging concept shows a significantly reduced climate impact (in CO2 equivalents) compared to commonly used blister solutions on the market, as well as lower energy and water consumption.

The bottom film features outstanding deep-draw properties and uniform forming behavior thanks to its large processing window. Additionally, SÜDPACK customers benefit from the material's typical properties of PP films, even during processing, as the materials can be safely processed on existing packaging lines with only minor modifications.

For optimal product protection and maximum stability, the films can be equipped with different barriers and mechanical properties depending on the product to be packaged. What also distinguishes our films is their excellent water vapor barrier property, compliant with pharmacopoeial standards, across the entire remaining wall thickness. Moreover, the SÜDPACK solution offers particularly high transparency compared to currently available PP-based blister films on the market.
