S-Tec with a new, modular business model
Modular services for plant construction
With the new ModufleX concept, S-Tec GmbH has developed a customizable workbench for plant construction. The concept includes self-contained performance modules that plant planners and engineering offices can access individually, in groups, or in full. This significantly expands the service offerings of the company, which has been part of the Aquarion Group since July 1, 2014.
"With our ModufleX concept, plant planners can flexibly supplement or increase their development and manufacturing capacities on a project-specific basis if needed. They benefit from our extensive expert knowledge for all development and manufacturing steps in standard and special plant construction, as well as from our service and maintenance concepts. And all of this with high cost security," explains Reiner Hassmann, Operations Manager of S-Tec GmbH.
Modular services for plant construction
With ModufleX and extensive expertise in the development, prefabrication, and commissioning of assemblies and piping systems, S-Tec is building an even broader foundation. The company's target groups now include not only the semiconductor, microelectronics, and solar industries, as well as customers from the paper, pharmaceutical, food, and beverage sectors, but also the oil and gas industry, as well as the chemical and heavy industries. The company already meets all necessary requirements to operate in international plant construction with certifications such as EN ISO 9001, HP0, and WHG.
The ModufleX concept comprises a total of eleven self-contained performance modules that can be accessed individually, in groups, or completely by plant planners and engineering offices. The individual modules range from engineering and software development to frame construction, coating, mechanical and electrical pre-assembly, process and functional testing, logistics, assembly, commissioning, and external quality assurance.
Successful business development
With this new business model and a new parent company, S-Tec is starting fresh and has already recorded initial profits within the first three months since the restart. The company, founded in 2006, specializes in prefabrication, delivery, and installation of systems and plants for industrial water supply and wastewater treatment. It only became part of the Swiss Aquarion Group on July 1, 2014, following the sale of the individual companies of the insolvent SH+E Group.
Aquarion is a globally leading provider of systems, technologies, and solutions for water treatment in the oil and gas industry, the energy sector, and other process industries. The change in ownership secures the jobs of the current 40 S-Tec employees at the Klipphausen location.
On a growth course
Initially, S-Tec was part of the SH+E Group and operated solely as an assembly and pre-assembly service provider. With the transition to the Aquarion Group, S-Tec will now operate independently in the market and acquire additional clients.
The signs at S-Tec are set for growth. Employees who left the company due to the corporate insolvency have already returned. In 2015, four more qualified positions are planned to be created. According to Operations Manager Reiner Hassmann, even the current production area of 2,250 m² will soon be too small. He is already considering a concrete expansion of the manufacturing halls.
