S!MPAC 2.0 and S!MPATI Update 4.80.2 for the digitalized future

Later this year, Weiss Technik will introduce the new control system for its environmental simulation chambers. "S!MPAC 2.0" has been completely redeveloped, modularly constructed, and runs on a Linux environment, unlike its predecessor. This is accompanied by an update to the software S!MPATI, which is required for control and management.

Weiss Technik is thus adapting its hardware to the digital transformation and increasing speed. The new machine control S!MPAC 2.0 offers a future-proof development environment with Linux, providing seven times higher computing power. Thanks to the modern architecture of encapsulated applications, new applications can be implemented system-independently. For Industry 4.0 applications, S!MPAC 2.0 can be connected to the industrial standard OPC-UA via the optional extension and the software S!MPATI 4.80. With support from Weiss Software Consulting, customers can develop individual Docker applications that run directly on the control system.

Three new safety systems

Enhanced security is provided by the integrated ring buffer in the new control system, which allows access to system-relevant data retrospectively for 14 days in case of service. Also new is an internal capacitor that can bridge power fluctuations of up to 10 seconds in the control components. For the first time, the new control system includes a Network Time Protocol (NTP) for connection to an NTP support, ensuring millisecond-precise system time during the test application.

Software update to S!MPATI 4.80.2 with proven modules

The software S!MPATI has also been revised for the new control system. Weiss Technik has incorporated proven modules into version S!MPATI 4.80.2. This includes the update wizard for secure installation. The wizard checks whether all settings from older installations can be transferred to the new version. Additionally, users can continue to install multiple versions of S!MPATI in parallel and access an older version if needed.

More flexible evaluation options under S!MPATI 4.80.2

The redesigned evaluation in the SimViewer now allows overlaying and comparing results from multiple test runs. The workbook mode also offers the option to evaluate multiple daily archives together for the first time. This saves a lot of time and has the advantage that backups are secured daily but can still be combined for analysis.

Attractive conditions and extended free trial version

The software update to S!MPATI 4.80.2 is free for all software customers from the last two years (S!MPATI 4.80). Weiss Technik offers a 40 percent discount to all customers with software version 4.70. As a trial version, S!MPATI 4.80.2 can be used unrestrictedly for six months, allowing new interested parties to familiarize themselves thoroughly before purchasing. During the trial phase, the number of usable test systems is increased from five to 99. Appointments for software training on the new S!MPATI versions can be booked via the Weiss Technik® Academy.
