A Würzburg junior research group is developing a key technology for scalable quantum systems. The Federal Ministry of Research is providing more than 6.6 million euros for this.

Initiate the next phase in quantum computing

At Julius Maximilian University of Würzburg (JMU), a technology is currently being developed that could be crucial for the future of quantum technologies: a novel phase modulator that controls light signals extremely quickly and almost losslessly. For the development of this component, the junior re…

The Esslingen University of Applied Sciences is successful with research projects on energy storage funded by the Carl Zeiss Foundation

Funding takes research on the energy transition to a new level

As part of the event "CZS on Site," three newly appointed professors from Esslingen University of Applied Sciences demonstrated that they will play an important role in research on the energy transition.

To gain a direct impression of the funded projects, Esslingen University invited Judith Hohendorf…

Gateway Lunar Space Station (artistic depiction): Impression of the Gateway Lunar Space Station. The space station in lunar orbit is intended to serve as a habitat, fuel, and research center for astronauts exploring our Moon as part of the Artemis program. The Human Exploration Control Center (HECC) will be responsible for operating three modules of the Gateway: the communication system to the lunar surface HLCS, the living and working module I-HAB, and the propulsion module ESPRIT. A central part of the Orion spacecraft is the European Service Module (ESM), which is built in Germany by the European Space Agency (ESA) on behalf of NASA. It includes the propulsion system for Orion and supplies power through four solar generators. Additionally, it regulates the climate and temperature inside the spacecraft and stores fuel, oxygen, and water supplies for the crew.
