The robust, pre-calibrated NDIR gas sensors of the series BASICEVO and CONNECTEVO for refrigerants reliably detect even the smallest amounts of halogenated hydrocarbons such as R22, R134a, R404a, R125, R123, etc., in ambient air. This allows for early detection of potential refrigerant leaks, helping to prevent accidents and reduce costs.

According to EU regulations on fluorinated greenhouse gases, cooling systems must be regularly inspected for refrigerant leaks. The inspection intervals depend on the size of the system and thus on the amount of climate-damaging refrigerants it contains. The larger the system, the shorter the intervals. Not only does early detection of escaping refrigerants benefit the environment, but it also protects against dry running of the system, extends maintenance intervals, and increases overall system availability.

The use of NDIR gas sensors for leak monitoring doubles the interval between two maintenance checks. This significantly reduces operating costs and provides clear competitive advantages.

smartGAS offers refrigerant sensors in the BASICEVO and CONNECTEVO versions for measurement ranges of 1000 ppm or 2000 ppm for a variety of gases such as R134a, R404a, R125, and more. Standardized interfaces facilitate the integration of the drift-resistant gas sensors, which are naturally almost fully compatible with the first generation of smartGAS refrigerant sensors.

The optional accessories for safe installation with IP54 protection, including all necessary calibration tools, are also provided by smartGAS.
