Special machinery manufacturer for the semiconductor industry doubles cleanroom size and continues sustainable growth trajectory.

EV Group (EVG), a technology and market leader in the development and production of precision equipment for wafer processing, recently celebrated the completion of Cleanroom IV in St. Florian am Inn. Through its long-term growth strategy, EVG is meeting the increasing demand from its global customers for high-volume production equipment and the desire for shorter delivery times. Simultaneously with the doubling of the cleanroom area for process development and pilot series production using the company's specialized machines, additional application laboratories, a new research and development division for product development and testing, as well as a new training center, have been established.

In EVG's dust-free cleanrooms and application laboratories, the most complex manufacturing processes for the company's specialized machines are developed. These are used in the semiconductor industry and microsystem technology to produce core components of many electronic products used in daily life. Renowned industrial companies worldwide utilize EVG's equipment to produce, on the basis of thin, mostly round wafers made of silicon, glass, or other high-tech materials, microscopic electrical, micromechanical, or optical structures, highly integrated microchips, or other components such as camera modules or position and motion sensors for the latest smartphone generation.

By expanding cleanroom capacities and adding fully automated systems for processing various wafer sizes, the demo capabilities and customer-specific process development at EVG's corporate headquarters—where all EVG technologies and products are developed and manufactured—are further enhanced. The technology and process development teams at the headquarters work closely with their colleagues at EVG branches in Tempe, Arizona, and Albany, New York (USA), Yokohama and Fukuoka (Japan), Seoul (South Korea), and Chung-Li (Taiwan), where additional cleanroom capacities are available. EVG collaborates globally with leading universities and research and development institutes and plays a significant role in key industry associations and technology consortia.

EVG's new training center in St. Florian am Inn features several training rooms as well as numerous manual and automated EVG systems available for training purposes. Participants include EVG customers' employees from around the world, who are introduced to the technology, manufacturing processes, products, software, and operation of the equipment. Additionally, EVG employees from the headquarters and worldwide subsidiaries regularly participate in training sessions at the center.

The extensive expansion of the corporate headquarters, whose first phase was completed earlier this year with the opening of a new, state-of-the-art manufacturing hall and the doubling of production space, supports EVG's further growth. The company increased its order intake by an additional 5% in the fiscal year ending September 2012, with sales rising by 20% in the same period. Over the past 12 months, EVG has hired more than 100 new employees worldwide and continues to strengthen all areas of the company. Currently, the company employs around 600 people globally, nearly 500 of whom are based in St. Florian am Inn.
